The hex files under <code>examples\ble_peripheral\ble_app_beacon\hex</code> on the other hand, are application files merged with the SoftDevice. This just for convenience, so that they can easily be tested by flashing only that single file.</p> <p>(Multiple hex file (such as the application and SoftDevice) can easily be merged using for example <code>mergehex</code>, which is part of <a href="https://www.nordicsemi.com/eng/nordic/Products/nRF51822/nRF5x-Command-Line-Tools-Win32/33444">nRF5x-Command-Line-Tools</a>.)</p><div style="clear:both;"></div>
