I have a PCA10000/PCA10001 board, I have the same problem and I can't find the 5.10d either.

Hi, Thanks I did this and now the scanning appears to work. I am not clear on some of the details on how the blesniffer interfacts with jlink ( and how the nRFgo does the same). Is there any documentation that I could read that would educate me on the relevant details. Appreciate the help

You should try the latest version of segger jlink, the link that you posted is for a PCA10000/PCA10001 board. You are using a PCA10031 board. What version of segger jlink did you test with ?

What is the Nordic hardware that you purchased ? nRF51-DK ? nRF51-Dongle ?
