It's in the newlib. It should be linked by default. There are many options in the linker settings of Eclipse you can play with. You can compare with my script to see if yours is missing something.

I resolved this issue, the reason it was not working is because Eclipse cannot see a assembly file if the extension is not in caps (.s) it requires it to be (.S).

You can either rename the file with .S extension or add the file type in project preference -> c/c++ general --> file types --> user defined

This should now compile the assembly file and get the reset handler.

I am using nordic start up and nordic linker script. But there is more problems with it, I solved the current issue and discovered another one. My ARM linker is not able to find _start which is part of gcc_startup_nrf52.h define. Its something related to crt0.o and should be linked automatically. But it is not. any idea ?

I have my own linker script. You can use Nordic script. There is no problem with it. You need to use the startup code with it's linker script. So if you use Nordic startup, use Nordic script. If you use my startup, then you need my script.

Have you made any changes to linker script, at this point, I don't think this is an issue with eclipse. It is more on the lines of code mapping. What ld and make file you have used for your example ? the one that is standard with the nrf5X SDK armgcc ?

Hello Nguyen, Thanks for the quick answer, but your answer does no solve the issue I am talking about. Since you have made projects from scratch, can you please enlighten me what is wrong with the way I have done things. It will be a good learning exercise for me as well.
