Recently, I came across the nRF connect app and able to export RSSI data from my android phone. However, at the output data I could not find the timestamp for each of the logged RSSI measurements. Is there any setting to be changed to get timestamped data?

Thank you.

RE: How do I log RSSI data using FREE nRF app

Hi, Mrek
At this moment you are not able to download or export the RSSI data on nRF Connect iOS.

RE: How do I log RSSI data using FREE nRF app

Hello,
I succeeded to follow these steps on Android but not on iOS. Is this functionality available also on iOS device /app? If yes, how?

RE: How do I log RSSI data using FREE nRF app

Hi,

Yes, you can export (so far only the averaged) RSSI data from nRF Connect app. There was a bug in version 4.5, but yesterday we released version 4.6 where the bug is now fixed. Long click a device on Scanner tab to select it, then you may tap other devices to select them too, and select menu->Save As->Excel or CVS.

However, this is the averaged RSSI graph. Each sample is logged in 500ms interval and it's the average value calculated from RSSI of at most 10 last received packets during last 4 seconds.
The app also shows the detailed RSSI graph (to show it click the MORE button below a device), but currently these values can't be exported.

If you'd like to export the real RSSI data with timings so far you'd have to write your one simple app that does that. This feature will be added in nRF Connect in some future release, but don't know when exactly.
