This makes a ton of sense - I had a similar problem evidently from the USB connector on my DK and spent days trying to figure it out. I can finally reproduce the error by messing with the line resistance and capacitance. Glad this is out there as a USB connection issue. devzone.nordicsemi.com/.../

Oh ok. Yes, sometimes cables supplied ex. with power banks does not have proper data lines... great that you managed to solve that :)

Finally, got it recognized! As stated, I first tried with three different USB cables and nothing happened. I just tried a fourth one... And this is where the magic happens! Jlink drive is recognized on Windows & Mac!

Maybe there were some problems with the data wires on these USB cables - maybe they are just good at recharging my power banks...

Anyway, thanks a lot for your help! Was really appreciated!

bootloader mode is quite different from the standard one. it doesnt show on the pc also, right? If not, that does not look good. maybe some1 from nordic have some better ideas to check that out.

That's what I fear. I already checked on 1 Mac & 3 Windows PC. None of these computers detect the drive whereas on Windows my nRF51 boards are detected. I'm still investigating

I found a solution to update the firmware (devzone.nordicsemi.com/.../ but it needs the drive to be found!

And of course, I also tried with various USB cables!

OK, that is weird. It should at least appear as a usb drive (even without drivers), i think your board might be faulty, but i would check it on more PCs. There is JLINK OB firmware somewhere here (on nordic website), but i don't think that is the issue, if device doesn't show on your pc at all.

Hi Wojtek, already done. Either with Jlink driver 5.12 or 6.10 (the most recent one), Jlink can not find any device on USB.

Try updating your jlink driver
