Hoping someone can help.
Working from nRF51822_Development_Kit_User_Guide_v1.3.pdf.
Motherboard is nRF6310 Rev 1.4 2012.47
Bluetooth LE board is PCA10006 Rev 2.0.0 2013.21

RE: nRF51822 development kit examples don't quite work

Hi Kristin,

Thanks for your response. Point by point...

Yes the VCC and VTG LEDs light up.

"nRFgo Motherboard" shows up in the Devices and Printers list.

Yes, I used the blinky example from the folder: Keil\ARM\Device\Nordic\nrf51822\Board\nrf6310\blinky_example

Looks like my main problem on this HRS example was that I did not properly program the softdevice from nRFgo before programming the HRS example from uVision. The example appears to work now.

Thank you for your prompt and thorough reply.
Please make sure that the board is powered up. Does the VCC and VTG LEDs are lightening?

Please verify if "nRF6310" is shown in the list of devices in "Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Devices and Printers".

For the blinky example, did you use the example in the ..\Keil\ARM\Device\Nordic\nrf51822\Board**\nrf6310**\blinky_example folder?

For the Heart Rate demo, it is also necessary to load the softDevice (the Bluetooth stack) to the chip. Did you remember to do that?

Unfortunately it sees like the User Guide does not contain the updated folder path, it should be:
..\Keil\ARM\Device\Nordic\nrf51822\Board\nrf6310\s110\ble_app_hrs (S110 is the peripheral Bluetooth stack).
Regards,
Kristin
