I am running the mqtt subscriber example provided in IoT SDK (nrf5_iot_sdk_3288530).
I am using raspberry pi as router, and following the infocenter tutorial .

&lt;p&gt;Before more questions, can you tell me what Raspberry Pi and OS version you are using?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;According to &lt;a href="https://devzone.nordicsemi.com/question/82269/iot-sdk-rpi3-using-jessie-with-bluetooth_6lowpan/"&gt;Stian&amp;#39;s guide,&lt;/a&gt; kernel 4.1 or above supports 6lowpan.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Or how about checking out the above link? I had the same concern and you can easily follow the steps provided by Stian.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;You should be able to &lt;a href="http://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/topic/com.nordic.infocenter.iotsdk.v0.9.0/iot_sdk_user_guides_linux_commands.html?cp=4_1_0_2_5_5#iot_sdk_user_guides_linux_commands_ping"&gt;ping&lt;/a&gt; with the &lt;a href="http://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/topic/com.nordic.infocenter.iotsdk.v0.9.0/iot_sdk_user_guides_ipv6_address_creation.html?cp=4_1_0_2_4"&gt;link local address&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Regarding step 8, you need to distribute a &lt;a href="http://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/topic/com.nordic.infocenter.iotsdk.v0.9.0/iot_sdk_user_guides_radvd.html?cp=4_1_0_2_3"&gt;global IPv6 prefix using RADVD&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;
