&lt;p&gt;From the diagram, SWDIO and SWCLK pads are exposed. You should then be able to update the firmware using a Segger degugger supporting the SWD interface. See chapter 11 of the &lt;a href="http://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/topic/com.nordic.infocenter.nrf51/dita/nrf51/pdflinks/ref_manual.html?cp=3_2"&gt;nRF51 Reference Manual v3.0&lt;/a&gt; for more information about the debugging interface.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;If the firmware support (legacy) DFU, it could also be an alternative to update the firmware OTA.&lt;/p&gt;
