In my company project, we are using the NRF52, and, apart of other peripherics, we need to use the NFC.
As the NFC isn't always exchanging data with the NFC tags, I would like to use the excess of energy generated by the NFC to charge

RE: NFC energy harvesting

It may be possible, but this is not something that we have looked into.

RE: NFC energy harvesting

Hi Bjørn, thanks for the answer. It seems quite feasible to use simple rectifier circuit to harvest that 480uA from external NFC reader, thus saving power from the battery. Right?

RE: NFC energy harvesting

The nRF52832 will consume battery power(about 480uA) when it is in the Activated state, please see the Electrical Specification of the NFCT peripheral, found here.

RE: NFC energy harvesting

may i ask a follow up question? during NFC of nRF52, does it consume battery power?
as far as I know it is not possible to use the NFC peripheral of the nRF52 to charge the battery of the device. Thus, we do not have any examples for this use-case.
