I encountered the same problem, took me too many hours to fix. As a hardware oriented engineer, getting all the settings and options right is really frustrating!

I'm using MDK 5 and nrf51 sdk v5.1, the only way i can see the nRF51xxx algorithm is to manually copy Keil\ARM\Pack\NordicSemiconductor\nRF_DeviceFamilyPack\1.0.1\Flash\nrf51xxx.flm to Keil\ARM\Flash\ . Is that a bug of SDK installer?

Beware that if the nRF51822 is not selected as the device on the Device tab in the Target options, the flash algorithm may not show up in the selection box with Keil 5.1.0. Also, you must apparently click OK in the Target Options before going back into the dialog to select a flash algorithm if the device is wrong to start with.

I'm pretty sure I looked at these settings before posting this question and the "nrf51xxx" option was not available, but it is now, and that solved my problem.

Hello,

Please verify the following, go to: Project -> Options for target -> Debug -> Settings -> Flash Download: In "Programming Algorithm" the nRF51xxx should be listed. If nRF51xxx is not listed, add it to the list by clicking on "add" and select it from the list.
