1) As far as I understood the master will scan for specific service or address: Correct! It is also possible to scan for device name.

2) If a central/master scans for devices with heart rate service, the central can choose to initiate a connection with that device.

As far as I understood the master will scan for specific service or address.

For example: if we have have master with heart rate service so it will scan for heart rate service or packets and when ever it gets it then it will start communication.

It this the way the master slave works in BLE ? please correct me if I am wrong?

A central/master does typically not have services. Typically, a central/master will choose to connect to a peripheral/slave with given UUIDs/services/functionality.

So if I have master with different service e.g heart rate and slave with thermometer so it will not communicate.

They will only communicate if they have same GATT structure?

Yes, two services with identical UUIDs should behave the same way. A GATT profile consists of a set of services.

I understood that UUIDs are like mac address by which we can identify the specific profile such as battery profile etc.

Thing is I am not embedded programmer so I need your help to understand the concept so can you tell me that for a master device it is must that it has the slave UUID and same GATT profile?

Can you tell me generally that if I have beacon from nordic on transmitter side and another development kit on another side so is it possible to communicate them?

Or do I need to do some software changing on the receiver side in order to make them communicate?

In short can beacon from nordic and Receiver from another company can communicate with out software changing?
