By doing so, you can make sure that the application works on the latest version of the SDK with nRF51, before migrating to nRF52.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;After you have migrated to SDK 12.2.0, a good part of the migration guide on the infocenter will no longer apply/be relevant.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;For the ADC --&amp;gt; SAADC, I would recommend you to take a look at the SAADC example in the SDK.&lt;/p&gt;
