&lt;p&gt;As it happens I made a small hands on example for just this purpose. I started with the ble_app_uart client and server examples, and added the code necessary to utilize either 2Mbps high speed mode or the 125kbps long range modes.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The added code can be identified by the comments, which start with &amp;quot;STEP&amp;quot;&lt;/p&gt;
