I am able to see the device's MAC address and name (using HRM example design) with hcitool lescan, but I am not able to establish a connection ever if I do hcitool info or hcitool

RE: Not able to connect to NRF52 DK with hcitool

This is to specify the address type. You can read more about the different types here: devzone.nordicsemi.com/.../

Why this has to be specified in the hcitool command I'm not sure, it's specific to the hcitool implementation.

RE: Not able to connect to NRF52 DK with hcitool

Hi Stian,

The error message I was getting was the connection timed out. Adding the --random switch resolved the issue though for me! Would you mind explain to me what this setting does and why it is needed for the nRF softdevice?

Thanks,
