&lt;p&gt;To read an analog value, you need to use the &lt;a href="http://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/topic/com.nordic.infocenter.sdk5.v12.2.0/hardware_driver_adc.html?cp=4_0_1_2_0"&gt;ADC&lt;/a&gt;. Unfortunately, the ADC driver is not included in the release of the IoT SDK for nRF51 (v0.8.0). It should however not be a big job to add the ADC driver from the standard SDK if you need this.&lt;/p&gt;
