&lt;p&gt;Just to rule out any hardware issues:
Could you please check if there&amp;#39;s a short between VCC_NRF and GND?
This can be done by ohming on one of the GPIO headers. VCC and GND should be clearly marked on the PCB (if revision 2.0.0 or newer)&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The PCA10001 board will blink continuously (LED marked &amp;quot;LD3&amp;quot;) when it&amp;#39;s trying to enumerate/establish the USB connection. As it&amp;#39;s detected in linux, this means that the physical soldering/connector is working properly.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Are you sure it&amp;#39;s not windows that is trying to search online for the driver? This may take quite some time before it&amp;#39;s recognized.
You should be able to see this under &amp;quot;Device manager&amp;quot; if this is the case.&lt;/p&gt;
