It will accept any softdevice code you give to it. So it's fine to use 0x98. Checking if the softdevice version is matched or not is the bootloader 's job.

Oh ok! So to be able to use nrfutil with v4.0.2, will I have to wait for an update? Or is still possible to use it sending 0x98?

I updated the blog. S132 v4.0.2 is not updated on nrfutil v2.2.0 yet. But you can find the code using nRFGo Studio, just open any board that contains the softdevice. You can see the code.

I checked in source on github - that version is just not listed in help.

I don't remember how to do it, but there should be option to check version. (nrfutil --version or something like that) However I am not 100% sure there is 0x98 version listed in help of newest version (not checked that myself), but if you got new version, everything should work correctly if You just provide that value when generating package.

Maybe, I just used "pip install nrfutil --upgrade" and got only "Requirement already up-to-date". How can I check if it is really updated?

I think You have not updated nrfutil correctly.
