Did you see my comment in your other post? If you get this error, it usually means that your device is not powered or connected properly.

Hi,

If you have the nRF51822 chip connected to the nRF51 DK using the debug out port, you can flash the softdevice the same way you would flash it to the nRF51 DK. The on-board debugger will detect the external device and flash this instead.
