Yes, you need to program Sniffer FW to the board. You can use several tools like nRFgo Studio or nrfjprog (command line utility from NRFTOOLs) or SEGGER J-Flash Lite from J-Link SW package, I use all of them basically daily, they are easy to operate.

@endnode I figured as much. I will try go through and reinstall and reprogram the sniffer today. From my understanding The userguide in the sniffer folder says to repgrogram I just need to install NRF studio and a segger jlink. Have you ever reprogrammed or gone through this process before? If so do you have resources that may help me?

Okey, so if the board with BLE FW seems to be working then probably Sniffer stopped. Unfortunately I've seen such things. Nordic Sniffer is great but it's still only $40 board with free-of-charge FW so you cannot expect extensive support and stability. On some systems of my friends it doesn't work at all, on some they need to unplug it after every session to be able to start new one, on some machines it works until some update/upgrade and then stops... hard to say what's wrong in your case. Usual debugging of windows application is restarting machine, reinstalling SW packages one by one, reinstalling the USB peripheral (Sniffer FW on nRF51 Dk or Dongle) etc.

Hi Hung, In the console I do not see anything, usually I see the advertising address when I send out but even when I send out catch the packets with a receiver I still see nothing. I am going to reprogram it today hopefully. I just need to get my hands on a j-link.

@micallef: What do you see on the nrfSniffer console now ? Do you see any advertising device ?

Can you re-program the sniffer board with the sniffer firmware ? You may request Adafruid for the firmware and instruction on how to program it.

Have you checked with another tool that your target board is really transmitting packets (like nRF Connect app for Android or iOS)?
