Hello, can you describe more precisely what you did? I have the same problem. I merged the bootloader and the bootloader_settings.

At the package generation, I generate a SD+BOOT+APP with the merged_boot.hex file. I can't programm it via DFU.

I also tried to programm the merged.hex by means of nrfgostudio. That doesn't work either

Resolved by creating a Settings File and merging with the SoftDevice, Bootloader and Application.

Do you see the same issue if you're using the nRF Toolbox app for iOS to perform a DFU using one of the test images from the SDK?

This is using unmodified buttonless example as well.

I tested this with an iPhone 5 and LightBlue Explorer, and I did not have any issues putting the device in bootloader mode. I also tested this with nRF Connect for Desktop, i.e. writing 0x0200 to the CCCD in order to enable notifications and then you write 0x01 to the Control Point Characteristic. Same story. Are you using the un-modified buttonless dfu example or have you modified/added buttonless dfu to another application?

Yes. Holding Button 4 at power on puts the pca10040 into DFU mode. Secure DFU with the botton works. The Buttonless does not trigger going into DFU mode. If the BLE_GATTS_EVT_RW_AUTHORIZE_REQUEST event is never received, DFU mode wont occur.

Have you flashed the secure bootloader(boootloader_secure_ble example) along with the experimental_ble_app_buttonless_dfu example to your nRF5x device?

Root cause is no BLE_GATTS_EVT_RW_AUTHORIZE_REQUEST gets generated despite the fact wr_auth is set.
