No, when the rbl ble dongle is running the sniffer firmware, it is used to sniff BLE packets from other BLE devices. With the sniffer firmware, the rbl dongle is a passive device that is sniffing BLE packet from other BLE devices. If there is no BLE devices that are advertising BLE packets, then no devices will show up in the "Available devices" section.

I get sniffer ready and connected on com15 but it doesnt show the ble device in available device..

Hi,

The official supported hardware is covered in Chapter 1.1 in the nRF Sniffer User Guide v1.4. To set up the Sniffer you will need one of the following kits :

nRF51822 Evaluation Kit (PCA10001) and a mini USB cable
nRF51422 Evaluation Kit (PCA10003) v3.0.0 or later and a mini USB cable
nRF51822 Development Kit dongle (PCA10000)
nRF51-DK (PCA10028) v1.0.0 or later and a micro USB cable
nRF51 Dongle (PCA10031)

According to RedBearLab they also support the nRF-Sniffer: redbearlab.com/.../, so if you get "Sniffer ready and connected on COM15" it should be working. Make sure that the BLE devices that you are trying to sniff are advertising. The devices that are advertising should be listed under "Available devices".
