Attached is the quick test with SDK v11 and app_timer from SDK v13. It seems to fix the issue. You can have a look: ble_app_uart - TestAppTimer.zip

Could you try to test if you can use the app_timer from SDK v13 in SDK v10 ? As far as I can see, the only thing you need to change is the interrupt priority (nRF52 has 8 priority when nRF51 has 4) Make sure you update the app.timer.h also.

We're using SDK 10.0.0 since we're developing for a nrf51822. So we can't expect a fix from Nordic any time soon?

Which SDK are testing with ? We got another report about a similar problem here. The issue happens when you start/stop app_timer inside an event handler.

We found that after the update of the app_timer in SDK v13, the issue was fixed. I don't think it would works out of the box when back port it to SDK v11 or earlier for nRF51 , but it worth to try.

Okay, we don't seem to reproduce the issue on the ble_app_hrs example. Thus we don't know what is causing this and we're gonna investigate our own code. I'll post updates here.

@Thomas: This looks very strange. Which SDK are you testing with ?

If you try on a fresh SDK and simply modify main.c of ble_app_hrs example to start a timer e.g m_battery_timer_id when in BLE_GAP_EVT_CONNECTED event in on_ble_evt() , would you see the same issue ?

Hi Thomas,

Please post your code, on how you initialize the timer. How often is that "sometimes" ? What would trigger that ? Have you tried to test with our example, such as the ble_app_hrs. We have a timer to send battery notification, you can use that to check if it has the same issue.

The ble_conn_params won't trigger the time if the connection parameter match with what the chip expected. Please have a look at conn_params_negotiation() function.
