Actually the issue was caused by me copying the example folder outside the sdk folder into my own workspace. The includes are depend on having files from the sdk. Simple solution is copy them over too and change the paths.

Examples work, but I can't build the softdevice, same issue as before.

Great that the SDK 13 is working for you! The CMSIS core itself is still used, so the CMSIS diamond icon should still be there.

Ok, downloading the SDK13 examples works, those don't have the issues above mentioned, tho the green CMSIS diamond icon is still there in the project explorer but it does not contain anything? Is that how it should be?

You just unzip the distribution .zip file and you should be ready to go by opening an example project. If you are using nRF52832 you should use SDK 13(most updated SDK for nRF52-series).

Not yet. The post says "Customers using CMSIS-Pack should move to *.zip-based SDK releases" how exactly do I migrate from CMSIS?

Note that the reason for this is that support for CMSIS Pack is depracted. See this blog post for more information about that.

I tried, does not help
Ok, but I doubt it, I installed everything just a few months ago.

Make sure that you actually extract the zip archive, and are not opening the project from within the zip archive itself.
It could be that your working directory is in a too deep level (i.e. long path name). This is a problem related to Windows path limitation, and is a known issue when the names get too long. You can try to move the SDK folder to level that is not that deep.
I would also recommend downloading the latest version of Keil if you have an older version.

"no source": Error: #5: cannot open source input file "............\components\boards\boards.c": No such file or directory

And same goes for a lot of other files.

The examples should work out of the box. Try to download a fresh copy of SDK 12.3 here, extract the .zip archive, navigate to SDK_folder\examples\ble_peripheral\ble_app_uart\pca10040\s132\arm5_no_packs. Open the Keil project, and try to compile it.

All of those includes don't work, they are shown on the project explorer, but the compiler can't seem to find them.
