I recommend using the Programmer in nRF Connect for Desktop to flash your custom board through the P19 connector on the nRF52 DK, see https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/index.jsp?topic=%2Fug_nc_programmer%2FUG%2Fnrf_connect_programmer%2Fncp_introduction.html.

I am having similar problem. Yes I am able to download simple blinky program on my custom board. Custom board is interfaced with nRF52-DK through P19. It is working fine. Now I want to download ble_blinky example. For this I need to download softdevice S112 first but I am not finding option to download softdevice.

Why you just don't connect debug-out port (P19 or P20) from nRF5x DK to SWD pins of your custom board and develop the same way as today?
