Have you tried debugging the application to see if any errors are reported? This can cause the UART data to not be sent.

I have tried different ports and different serial software, maximum output I could see was the start displayed but that too not everytime, it just occurs once after few trials, but could not input anything for ex: Q to quit. And regarding the MCP i tried using nrf go and even flashing as the program asked. It is still not working for me

Have you tested with another serial software, for instance Termite? Or tried another USB port, computer or development kit?

I adjusted the settings in putty according to given standards,and also disabld the flow control after reading the similar questions on nordic dev zone yet it is not working for me.

Note that the UART peripheral example use HW Flow control by default. You need to enable this in setting in putty, or change the UART settings in the example from APP_UART_FLOW_CONTROL_ENABLED to APP_UART_FLOW_CONTROL_DISABLED.

I am trying to see output for UART peripheral only. But i dont get anything. I used putty as the terminal. I did try after erasing using nRF studio.

Could you try erasing the device using nRFgo studio or nrfjprog before starting nRF Connect? nRF Connect should then ask you to flash the required firmware. Are you sure the examples you tested are printing anything on UART? Try the UART peripheral example or the BLE UART example, these should print to UART. Are both devices (the board running the application and the board used with nRF connect) PCA10028?

I have tried using nRF connect. It displays (NRF_ERROR_INTERNAL) error. I am trying to observe the simple output for the given ble_hrs exapmle. I am not able to scan any device or detect any device that says NORDIC or for that matter ANY device. AS for UART, after compliling the assignment i am unable to observe anything on the terminal.

Have you tried using nRF Connect for Desktop? It can do most of the things MCP can do, and can be used for testing of many examples. Could you explain the issue with UART in more detail?

Hi Jorgen I tried flash programming and also tried programming firmware using nRFgo studio. I still get the same status: No response from master emulator

Did you try flashing the connectivity firmware by clicking File->Flash programming" in MCP? I have seen some issues with the programming inside MCP, but the issue have been solved by opening nRFgo Studio, clicking "Erase all" button on the kit, and programming the connectivity FW manually. The firmware is stored in C:\Program Files (x86)\Nordic Semiconductor\Master Control Panel\3.10.0.14\firmware\pca10000\MEFW_nrf51822_0.11.0_firmware_1M.hex.
