I am using nrf51822 for couple of my projects and most of the time doing OTA device firmware update using development dongle connected to my Macbook Pro and running Master Control Panel (Windows on VMware). This had been very successful so far

RE: Can we do OTA firmware update using bluetooth built in Macbook?

Thanks Kristin!

In future, is there a plan to build a software stack which can emulate MEFW firmware?

RE: Can we do OTA firmware update using bluetooth built in Macbook?

Hello,

Unfortunately it is not possible to use the the Master Control Panel without a nRF51822/development dongle becuase the MEFW firmware has to be programmed to the chip. Therefore, the Master Control Panel will not work with just a PC with built-in BLE.

Regards,
