But can I use the internal 16MHz clock instead of the external? &lt;p&gt;The nRF51822 have to be used with an external 16 MHz clock.
The required frequency tolerance can be found in the &lt;a href="https://www.nordicsemi.com/eng/nordic/download_resource/20339/11/21148373"&gt;nRF51822 Product Specification&lt;/a&gt;, chapter 8.1.2.
Unfortunately, a resonator cannot be used because it will be too inaccurate.&lt;/p&gt;
