There are three typical problems of 2.4GHz embedded designs: power consumption, range (sensitivity, directivity/radiation pattern etc.) and compliance/certification (mainly FCC which seems to be more though then ETSI and others). As you say you are working on serious commercial project so my experience with BLE boards is 3-6 designs per release cycle (co 2-5 prototypes on one "final" release). The rest would be for several books I'm afraid (and I'm not HW expert so probably not the best person to ask;)

Thanks! What you mean when you say "won't be your single issue, trust me" ? I trust you :) but I would like to hear the whole thought. Im into a serious project here, installing a system on a big vessel and trying to find the best way out for the build of this wristband that will monitor the crew. Well nRF52832 is released product hence you can find detailed product specification on Nordic infocenter and you can use these numbers to make your own model (however it will be hardly accurate and making the prototype looks surprisingly like better way, you will anyway most probably need several iterations because power consumption won't be your single issue, trust me;). nRF5840 is not released as mass market product and that will come in ~6 months. Therefore you have limited products specification available (which Nordic calls "objective") but still you will find most numbers there. Btw. don't forget to look into Errata sheets, there might be some surprises;)

Surprise: you will need to build a proto and measure it:) You can do some very rough estimate with nRF52 on-line power profiler but in the end you will build a prototype and measure it.
