Is there a way of programming it externally using the nRF51-DK? If so, what connections do I need between the PCB and the DK?

&lt;p&gt;You can use the &lt;a href="http://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/topic/com.nordic.infocenter.nrf52/dita/nrf52/development/nrf52_dev_kit/hw_debug_out.html?cp=2_1_3_5_9"&gt;debug out port&lt;/a&gt; (P19 or P20) on the DK to program external devices. There are many questions about this here on DevZone. You can get more information in &lt;a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6sNDnRA6BY"&gt;this video tutorial&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;
