Firstly you haven't downloaded my app, I haven't written that app and I have nothing to do with Nordic, this is opened community forum. As Jørgen explained in his answer Nordic nRF Beacon app is looking for specific data format with Nordic Semi manufacturer ID while nRF Connect is general scanner which displays any BLE broadcasts which will go through lower BLE stack of your phone though APIs up to application level.

Hi Surjan,

The nRF Beacon App is created for use with the nRF51822 Beacon Kit, and is not meant as a general purpose app for use with Beacons from any vendor.

I'm not sure what the advertising packet contains on your device, but the app only scan for beacons with company ID set to Nordic's ID, 0x0059. You can find the source on our GitHub, and can modify it as you want, but don't expect it to be straight-forward to make it work with your device.

Thanks for your response.. I have downloaded your app (nRF Beacon "play.google.com/.../details and tried to scan the beacons .. it does not display the beacons. But at the same time when I try with the other app of yours ("nRF Connect for Mobile") it shows the beacons and similarly it shows in the "Locate Beacon" app also.

The reason for why I want nRF to work so I may change the firmware setting like changing name , Major, Minor , broadcasting interval etc .

Please help me you have the solution.

What beacon with exactly what setting is displayed in what app and where it isn't? I guess as soon as you get how exactly the packets look on radio interface you will also have your answer.
