This is a fairly straight fwd.. we've modified the base code to do just this plus added a few new characteristics (tx power, tx rate) that should be there by default too..

A day or two (depending how familiar you are) and you'd be good to go.

We also added the device name into the scan response so it shows up nicely..

Hi Runar, could be possible to obtain a modified source code of Nordic beacon (is not important to be iBeacon compatible) example with custom service able to change parameters without using buttons or other physical hardware on nRF6930 Rev 1.0.0 ?

Probably wouldn't be iBeacon compatible though...

The Beacon firmware already has a Beacon configuration mode. This is currently triggered by a button press. But I assume this could be modified for this.

Hi, could Nordic provide a sample code of custom service to add to Nordic ibeacon demo code as to obtain an ibeacon that advertises in connectable mode and able to accepts (stopping the advertising) the new parameters (Major, Minor etc..) and then restart the advertising with new parameters?

Hi,

I assume you want to change the parameters wirelessly over ble? :p Unfortunately this is not possible.

You can have a beacon product that advertises in connectable mode as long as it is connectable. Note that the beacon would stop advertising when a device connects to it, and you might get undesired connections in this case. I guess you could bond to one device during a commissioning process to make this a"configurator", then use the whitelist to filter out unwanted connections. For iBeacon applications please refer to the apple documentation.

Did you get access to the Beacon files? you can contact your regional sales manager or ask for access in the support portal.
