For future reference, v9.7.0-versions of nRF command line tools and newer should properly forward /q as /s to Segger, making it run in silent mode.

Ok. What you could do is fetch the nrftools msi package from the temp folder. You can find it by running the installer with /log log.log , and finding the line containing "Verified acquired payload: Tools at path: " The last path on that line should contain the separate nrftools-installer as an msi. You should be able to use this with the ordinary command line parameters to achieve a quiet installation without Segger.

Thanks for the update. I tried it and still get the segger installer:

.\nRF5x-Command-Line-Tools_9_6_0_Installer.exe /S /install /passive /quiet

In any case, this is not the behavior we want. We just need a minimal command line tools installation, without the jlink 6.16a install. We install the 6.16j since there are features we need specifically from it. If there

I spoke too early, the developer says that this is due to segger not supporting same flags as our installer. Can you please try /S option that should be passed to segger installation and it should keep its installation quiet.

It looks like the Segger installer doesn't support the flags we support as default, but all flags are passed to it. Try passing /S as well.

The developer for this says that this feature will be added mostly in the next release.

Since a silent installation option does exist, it is not clear why it would pop up an installation dialog. It looks like a bug where the silent flag is not followed properly.

I do not think the command line tool have any options to do this silently.
