As long as you don't start scanning you will not have any increase in power consumption.

I need to create a peripheral device, but the only application working is the combined application. My concern is that the central scanning increases power consumption, so I want to disable that and in effect make it a peripheral only application

I don't understand, how can you have peripheral+central if you have 0 central links?

Thank you. Am testing. Is power consumption impacted if Peripheral+Central is used and Central is somehow disabled (0 central links)?

Problems with nrf_delay_us and IAR 8 seems to be a known problem. See this.

The peripheral examples will not work out of the box with the new libraries that comes with the S140 example. It will not be fixed. If you want full SDK support you will have to wait for a new SDK release.

Hi Petter: Some more progress. I've been able to compile, link and debug and it stops in main. I am not sure what the difference was from before (maybe my overwriting the IAR project).

However, the device hangs in the following call stack:

nrf_delay_us

rtc1_stop

app_timer_init

timer_init

main

Aside from this, the peripheral examples are broken because advertising changes (so ble_advertising.c has errors in definitions). Will this be fixed or do I need to manually make the changes?

Strange. I just tested this. I just did this:

The steps to compile the example:
1. Download the SDK 13 from:
   www.nordicsemi.com/.../59012
2. Extract the SDK to a location of your wish.
3. Extract the content of this zip-file to the <sdk_location>.
4. Extract the header files from the s140_nrf52840_5.0.0-3.alpha_API\include
   folder to <sdk_location>\components\softdevice\s140\headers folder.
5. Navigate to: examples\ble_central_and_peripheral\experimental\ble_app_att_mtu_throughput\pca10056\s140
6. Compile using your favorite compiler.

And it compiled without any errors or problems. Which compiler are you using?

Hi Petter: Ok I took SDK13, updated with all the files. and tried to compile example but running into errors of things missing in definitions. As an Example: NRF_BLE_AMTS_EVT_NOTIF_ENABLED not defined NRF_BLE_AMTS_EVT_TRANSFER_1KB is not defined ble_enable_params_t is undefined

Seems some of this is defined in SDK14 though

Yes, the example is to be used with SDK 13.0.0. As mentioned in the readme I referred to above. SoftDevice S140 5.0.0-3.alpha was released before SDK 14.0.0 so the example has to be used with SDK 13.0.0.

Hi Peter: Yes that's the example I'm trying. However this example is broken. It refers in main.c to "softdevice_handler.h" which does not exist in SDK14 (original) or in the SoftDevice MTU project changes. It seems it exists in SDK13 but not 14

Have you tried the example that is included in the SoftDevice zip? Have you read the readme included to see how to use the example? I don't really know what you are doing, or exactly what errors you are getting. Seems your project is not able to find the SoftDevice handler library, is the include path correct?

Hi Petter: The issue is not resolved. I still face multiple code conflicts and the code will not compile.

Glad you figured it out. I recommend using the example that is included in the SoftDevice zip first. I don't think how you determine the starting point of application RAM has changed with this version. Try examining the SDK examples. There are also a few other threads in here explaining. Like this.

FYI, some of my compile issues werewresolved when copying ble_adv_data.c from the mtu example. There's some conflict that ADV_AD_TYPE_FIELD_SIZE may have been renamed and a few others
