Flash the softdevice (S132) to your chip and then build & download the ble_app_hrs app to your nrf52. Then, open up the nrf Toolbox app and run the HRM (heart rate monitor) app. Press Connect & you should see the DEVICE_NAME of your nrf52 given on line 80 of the main.c file.

RE: Mbed program will execute from Mac but not Windows (nRF52 DK)

@Bjørn Kvaale I can upload the ble_apps hrs hex to the nRF52DK using nRFGoStudio and LED1 flashes on the board. However, the Mbed blinky hex file does not make the LED flash even though it nRFGoStudio says it weas programmed correctly. So I still have no way of programming my nRF52DK from with hex files from the mbed compiler on a windows machine.

RE: Mbed program will execute from Mac but not Windows (nRF52 DK)

What if you try to flash the blinky hex file using nrfGoStudio instead? Is that a possibility or do you absolutely want/need to use the mbed program? You can take a look at this tutorial. Just ignore the fact that the tutorial requires nrf51 and keil. Flash the softdevice (you will probably need the S132) first, and then flash the blinky hex file (under nRF5_SDK_14.0.0_3bcc1f7\examples\ble_peripheral\ble_app_blinky\hex) in the Program Application tab in nrfGoStudio.

I am also running Windows 10 and I have flashed both the Blinky and the ble_apps_hrs hex file to my nrf52 using nrfGoStudio. The hrs example worked very well when I connected the nrf52 to the nrf toolbox app for iOS (also available for android). Then you can run the HRM application.
Hope that helps!

RE: Mbed program will execute from Mac but not Windows (nRF52 DK)

Thanks @Bjørn Kvaale I have tried it on 3 different windows 10 machines and they have the same problems even with the mbed serial port drivers installed.

RE: Mbed program will execute from Mac but not Windows (nRF52 DK)

Weird that it works on mac, but not windows.
