You can download the firmware package from here www.nordicsemi.com/.../61954. Like I mentioned before you can try to put it in to boot loader mode and try doing DFU. Make sure to copy the downloaded DFU package to your phone and try using nRF Connect. Please let us know if this works so that we can find the root cause.

RE: How to update thingy52 Firmware?

It doesn't update from any device I've tried, doesn't show any indication it is updating, and I can get it to crash by tapping the blue icon more than once. When the DFU process starts you should be able to see the Thingy:52 starting to blink in yellow and the grayed out status icons/texts will start to change its colors. One other thing you could do is to turn off the thingy and turn it on with the button on top of thingy pressed. This will put the thingy in to boot loader mode and you should be able to go back to the DFU screen and press the DFU button. The app will scan for the Thingy in DFU mode and you should be able to connect and start the DFU process from there on wards

RE: How to update thingy52 Firmware?

Did you manage to perform the Firmware update on any of the other Android devices, or do you have the same problem?
The reason that you can't see the temperature might be becuase it is no turned on. Try to press the Action button in the Thingy app -> Environment and see if the temperature box is "checked".
Take a look at this page from the Thingy:52 User guide.

Updating firmware on a Thingy that is
already connected

This scenario is a default use case.
During the DFU update, you can pause
and resume the DFU update from the
point when it was stopped.

1. Connect to Thingy.
2. Navigate to the Firmware Update menu.
3. Tap the blue DFU icon in the bottom right corner of the screen to
start the DFU process.

The status of the DFU is highlighted
on the tick marks at the bottom of the
screen and the progress bar is updated
with the average DFU speed.

If you still experience any problems, let me know!

Edit 19.09.17

Turned out that the Thingy that had problems updating the Firmware, was flashed with a custom ANT Firmware. This prevented the DFU service to successfully update the Thingy using the Thingy App or the nRF Connect mobile apps.

The solution was to to a wired firmware update, using either a Nordic nRF 52 DK or a programmer. Using a DK and nRFgo Studio the Thingy can be erased and flashed with the pre-compiled hex file with FW v1.1.0. The hex file can be downloaded under the downloads tab on the Thingy product page.

Best regards,
Joakim.
