I am using Ubuntu 16.04 (64-bits) OS.
I installed JLink_Linux_V620b_x86_64.deb and was using nRF5x-Command-Line-Tools_9_6_0_Linux-x86_64.tar
I can capture the debug messages using UART.
I followed the instructions stated on devzone.nordicsemi

RE: Cannot establish RTT logger

I just rebooted the system.

RE: Cannot establish RTT logger

What fixed your problem? Also, it could be that something on your network is blocking the RTT client. This is because the JLinkRTTClient connects to JLinkEXE via the network (through the loopback address). Hope that helps a bit!

RE: Cannot establish RTT logger

Could be useful to take a look at this case first. This forum post might also be helpful. I tried to install this using ubuntu 16.04 64 bit on a virtual machine now. It seems there is some issue with my usb connection. This is a well known problem that I have experienced multiple times unfortunately.

Which parameters did you input after executing JLinkExe? Are you using an nrf52 dk or an external J-Link as programmer? Also, which nrf are you using (e.g. 51822, 52832, 52840)?
