So since it works with a signal generator it seems to be related to your PIR sensor? Have you check that your input actually crosses your reference voltage?

Yes i had set a breakpoint inside the LPCOMP_CROSS event .
I'm running a 50uS timer and sampling the lpcomp result value. The result is always zero. 3.The example works fine. 4.A PIR sensor has been connected to the LPCOMP_INPUT_2

we seem to be getting the desired results when we connect the input to a signal generator also.

Strange.

Have you set a breakpoint inside case NRF_LPCOMP_EVENT_CROSS: when debugging?
Do you have a lot of other things going on in your application?
Have you tried the example in the SDK without modifying it?
What do you have connected to NRF_LPCOMP_INPUT_2?

I've added the init function, I've used the one provided in the example.
