&lt;p&gt;After some further testing i have found out that the printf function as implemented in this example with show output in termional only if the string ends with new line character (&amp;#39;\n&amp;#39;).
besides that it works fine.&lt;/p&gt;

I was experiencing a similar problem with Segger Embedded Studio.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The fix for Segger is to implement a custom function to do the printf.. &lt;p&gt;It is mainly about configuring the &lt;code&gt;sdk_config.h&lt;/code&gt; file.&lt;/p&gt;
