You can adjust the size and count of the ping, as described in the CLI documentation. At least this shows the node have access to IPv4 internet through the BR. Can you message me (dont post in public) output of ipaddr and router table commands on the CLI node, and ifconfig of BR rounter?

I ended up by flashing a new SD card. And now I managed to change the password and then SSH access. But the configuration seems ok!

But the Thread commisioning app cannot find the border router.

And I only get: 8 bytes from fd00:64:123:4567:0:0:808:808: icmp_seq=1 hlim=55 time=54ms

Where guide states: 16 bytes from fd00:64:123:4567:0:0:808:808: icmp_seq=5 hlim=39 time=111ms

Unfortunately, I don't have any good ideas to solve it. If you have not made a lot of changes to the BR settings, could you try writing the original boarder router image to the SD card once more, and try again from the start?

I was prompted to set one the first time I logged in. But I can see it has no effect! I can enter the web site if I leave the password field blank as well?! Any ideas?

Try rebooting the router (System -> Reboot -> Perform reboot) and try again.

I did set the password for the root user. But I cannot set a router password for some reason`?!

Did you set the password for root user in LuCI web interface? SSH does not seem be enabled before password is set. Do you have IPv6 connectivity between boarder router and internet? If not, you can only reach IPv4 internet (without setting up an IPv6 tunnel). You can use this command to resolve IPv4 DNS addresses:

dns resolve ipv4.google.com fd00:0064:0123:4567::1
