We developed a few devices using the nRF51822 and noticed that the receiving range is reduced significantly from our nRF24L01 devices. The transmission range is good however.
We are using the micro ESB libraries with no soft devices, and are

RE: nRF51822 receiving range problem. The RF module manufacturer wired up pin 17 to the RX of the PA, and we did not know this (the solution was to set pin 17 to output high). Now I really wish we integrated with FOTA hehe.

RE: nRF51822 receiving range problem. I'm looking at the problem3 image and I'm curious as to how you've connected the nRF51 to the antenna. The nRF51822s receiver has better sensitivity than the nRF24L01, so it should have longer range when used as a receiver.
