If you have not done so earlier you can switch to the long range PHY for the BTLE Mesh, look at this case for specifics.

The Bluetooth Mesh Profile Specification is based on Bluetooth v4.0, with the intention of allowing BLE devices already in the market to interact with Bluetooth Mesh networks. Hence, none of the Bluetooth 5 features are in the current version of the specification. That said, they might be added in future updates to the Mesh specification.

It is a pity because we are experimenting ble mesh with a nrf52832 and with 2 of them we reached a distance of about 200m in line of sight, using long range with 62,5kbit, but when we put them into a mesh network we had a maximum range of 25 meters. For our purposes it is too short...

The Bluetooth mesh does not support the 500kbps or 125kbit Radio modes so you are limited to one of the two BLE radio modes, i.e. RADIO_MODE_BLE_1MBIT or RADIO_MODE_BLE_2MBIT. Using the 2Mbit mode will lead to a 3dBm drop in sensitivity, i.e. reduced range. Thus, out of the modes in the list that can be used with the Bluetooth Mesh its RADIO_MODE_BLE_1MBIT that will give you the longest range.

Thanks a lot, although the blog post answers many questions regarding bluetooth 5 throughput, it doesn't answer what the "typedef radio_mode_t" in the sdk for mesh is.

Which of the modes in radio_mode_t are compatible with the nrf52840 and out of these which of these give the greatest range?
