&lt;p&gt;It&amp;#39;s correct that it&amp;#39;s the central responsibility to reconnect. I&amp;#39;m not very familiar with BlueZ but on Android and iOS you can do that by setting autoconnect= true. Have a look &lt;a href="https://devzone.nordicsemi.com/question/51099/i-want-my-app-to-auto-connect-to-my-nrf51822-device/"&gt;here&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;
