Hi, I was trying this example. However, looks like the example was made with older SDKs.

I'm using SDK 7.2 and SoftDevice S110 ver 7.1. Is there a revision of this example?

If not, I want to know which part to change. Or is there an example like this in the SDK 7.2 folder?

Hi, Ole Morten, I am using S110 v7 for scanning and advertising, it works well. Now, I am trying to meassure RSSI while scanning. Can this softdevice do this?

As you can see in the code, this example does not transmit the RSSI over the air in any way, so you can not read it in Master Control Panel. Instead it outputs the RSSI value on the LEDs. Please see line 657 in main.c and onwards.

Thank you so much! I think you are so great! I have get the result like this: [16:18:41.0] Received Read Response, handle: 0x0003, value (0x): 48-52-4D-5F-45-4B-5F-52-53-53-49 so which number is the RSSI? Maybe this is my last question. Many thanks.

For reference please have a look at the attached example. It adds RSSI measurements to the nRF51822 Evaluation kit HRS example, and changes the value of the evaluation kit LED based on the RSSI.

I assumed you had already installed the SDK and looked at the example applications, in which you could add this call on for example the event handler for the connected event.

If that's not the case, I urge you to take a look at your kit's user guide and follow the quick start there to get up and running. To start receiving RSSI measurements with the S110 softdevice, you just call sd_ble_gap_rssi_start(). This will then give you BLE_GAP_EVT_RSSI_CHANGED events in which you can read the current RSSI level. Please note that this only works while in a connection.
