There maybe a chance that the Nexus 6P doesn't support long MTU. You can try to comment out the code that request longer MTU in the nRF52.

A sniffer trace would really tell what happened.

Have you checked what is the disconnect reason on the nRF52 (BLE_GAP_EVT_DISCONNECTED event)?

on the phone side with the nexus it gives me an onClientConnectionState with a status of 8 which i believe is timeout but i am not not completely sure

well on the NRF side

when i connect with a nexus i only get one ATT MTU exchange

with a samsung it goes through the entire operation, with two ATT MTU exchanges

If it didn't crash, could you please check what is the disconnect reason (in the DISCONNECTED event) ?

The app on the nRF52 does not crash. I can try and get the sniffer trace.

We would need to see a sniffer trace to understand what would be wrong.

Have you checked if the app on the nRF52 crashes ?
