If I were you, I would buy a SWD (edit: not JTAG) cable & see if that works better. I still haven't figured out what the problem could be. I need to look at it a bit further.

Hi Bjorn. I didn't cut anything on the DK board. I managed to program the DK board without the custom board successfully. I tried to program the custom board using a 12 Ohm Resistor on the CLK line, but then, JLink could not connect to the target any more. I didn't tried to program the board using P19 connector, because I don't have the interface (connector). It may be the custom board... hope not :). Thanks

A quick question first: Have you done any current measurements with your nrf51 dk? If you have cut the SB9, did you make sure to attach a jumper cable to P22?

Can you program the Blinky example or ble_app_hrs under ble_peripheral folder in the SDK using only the nrf51 dk (remove the custom board & just choose an SDK that supports nrf51)? Just want to make sure that that works first.

Have you tried programming your custom board via the P19 connector yet with a 12 kOhm resistor? If you program the Nordic Thingy for example, it is normal to use a SWD (edit: not JTAG) cable on the P19 connector. But P20 should theoretically work.

In Kunal's case, there was some HW issue with his custom board, right? So there could potentially be an error there. I will take a closer look the error messages and log file & get back to you soon.

Hi Manikandan, it’s not in my best interest to change the chip, because I wan’t to use an already made solution for my project and I want to know if it’s a good vendor (it also has fcc approval). Is there any way to detect if it’s a hardware issue? Thanks!

May be fault with NRF51822 chip on custom board. Change the Chip and retry.
