&lt;p&gt;You can choose to the method that you want.&lt;br /&gt;
Both nRFGo Studio and nrfjprog can be used to flash the softdevice to your device.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;However, there is also possible to do this directly in SEGGER Embedded Studio.&lt;br /&gt;
In SES, go to Target and make sure that the J-link is connected.&lt;br /&gt;
When connected, go to Download File -&amp;gt; Download Intel Hex File... -&amp;gt; and choose the softdevice to flash to your device.&lt;br /&gt;
The softdevice can also be added to load together with your application using the additional load file.&lt;br /&gt;
