Thank you.en-USTelligent Community 13Mon, 04 Dec 2017 09:39:44 GMThttps://devzone.nordicsemi.com/thread/109649?ContentTypeID=1Mon, 04 Dec 2017 09:39:44 GMT137ad170-7792-4731-bb38-c0d22fbe4515:7a2c6d0f-a205-4e7f-84ac-3ead84865ddfovrebekk<p>Hi</p> <p>The main feature of ESB is the automatic TX/RX switching, used to implement the ACK functionality, but you get some other features as well:</p> <ul> <li>Automatic retransmit when the ACK is lost</li> <li>Dynamic payload length (1-32 bytes)</li> <li>ACK with payload</li> <li>Dynamic ACK</li> </ul> <p>In terms of performance the only difference is that ESB adds a 9 bit header to the packet, to include the packet length, PID counter and ack/noack bit. This increases the packet overhead slightly.</p> <p>Otherwise the performance is similar, and if you send a packet without the ACK the the difference is negligible.</p> <p>Best regards<br /> Torbjørn</p><div style="clear:both;"></div>
