I have used this Makefile.common but it doesn't work for me. I'm using sdk 12.2

It is not a SDK issue as far as I can tell, but a limitation with the CDT build output parser that we use to retrieve include paths and pre-processor definitions from the build output. The 'patched' file removes quotation marks from the echoed strings to make the parser work.

Maybe the reason, is since you are not including that files in your project they are not being compiled. For example, app_timer is not being used in your main

Hi Tong,

Please try to replace makefile.common in <SDK_ROOT>/components/toolchain/gcc with the attached one. I modified this one so it doesn't output "quoted" strings
