&lt;p&gt;It sounds like NUS is the way to go. I&amp;#39;m not sure if I understand your problem, but if your device doesn&amp;#39;t advertise it is pretty likely that your code has asserted and ended up in an endless while loop or is continuously resetting itself. When you merged NUS into your application, did you remember to check all return codes of your function calls with for example APP_ERROR_CHECK()?
