Close, the 2 setups are: PC <--usb--> PCA10040 <--patch--><--Segger Cable--> Custom board PC <--usb--> JLink Flasher <--Segger Cable--> Custom board We're trying the Segger cable with 6-pin adapter - it looked cute :)

So you have { PC <-- usb --> JLink flasher <-- JLink cable--><-- patch cable --> custom board } correct? Is that patch cable used for { PC <-- usb --> PCA10040 <-- patch cable --> custom board } or we are talking two different patch cables here?

Problem solved - turns out to be USB issue. Some combination of USB 3.0, Windows 7 and my computer has issues. Other combinations work just fine.

We bought both Jlink's directly from Segger and yes, we are using the same cables that we also bought directly from Segger. We built a little patch cable the connects the PCA10040 P20 to the Segger cable.

And the (mini) connector from PCA10040 to your custom board, is that the same connector you use between the JLink flasher and your custom board?
